1. Prepare the surface
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from grease. Remove any loose or peeling paint. Lightly sand glossy surfaces with fine abrasive paper, then remove all dust and residue.
2. Repair and prime
Fill cracks and surface defects with a suitable filler, then sand smooth. Treat powdery surfaces with a suitable stabilising solution and spot-prime exposed nail heads with a rust-resistant primer.
On new plaster or other absorbent surfaces, dilute the first coat with one part clean water to ten parts paint.
3. Stir thoroughly
Mix the paint thoroughly before use with a suitable mixing tool. If you are using more than one tin, combine them in a larger container before painting to ensure a consistent finish.
4. Apply two coats
Apply by brush, roller or suitable spray equipment. For the best roller finish, use an AllPro microfibre roller sleeve. Maintain a wet edge as you work and avoid spreading the paint too thinly.
For the best coverage and finish, apply two full coats.
5. Allow to dry
Under normal conditions, the paint will be touch dry in 1–2 hours. Allow at least 4 hours before applying the second coat.
Avoid painting in high humidity or when the air or surface temperature is below 5°C, as this may affect drying and the final finish.
6. Clean your equipment
Remove as much paint as possible from brushes and rollers, then clean them immediately using warm, soapy water. Do not pour leftover paint or cleaning water into drains or watercourses.
